SHARON ROGERS, Owner and Director of Rogers Ballet Inc, is on the faculty of Friends University, and the Ballet Mistress and Regisseur. Her high teaching standards have propelled students into The New York City Ballet, Twyla Tharp Dancers, The Houston Ballet, The Fort Worth Ballet, The New York State Ballet, and many other regional ballet companies. Her dancers perform on Broadway, in Professional Theatrical Touring Companies, and The Rockettes - as well regional musical theatre companies and cruise lines. Her advanced students have been accepted into many pre-professional company schools such as: The School of American Ballet, The Pacific Northwest Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada and The Houston Ballet. Having extensive training in the art and science of dance teaching and technique, Sharon is an accomplished instructor of classical ballet, tap, and theatrical dance. She studied with renowned teachers at the American Ballet Theatre School, American Ballet Center and Harkness Ballet. Also, she has a BFA in Ballet. She has been training Wichita dancers since 1978. During the Rogers' return to New York City, she was the Director of Ballet at the Morningside School at Columbia University. Sharon choreographs her annual Student Concerts, and also re-stages many ballets from the classical repertory.

 

STAN ROGERS is an Associate Professor and Director of the Ballet Department at Friends University holding a Masters degree from Columbia University, New York City and is a prolific choreographer - especially in a contemporary idiom utilizing classical ballet, his theatrical background and his extensive musical training. Stan performed with the Fort Worth Ballet, Bejart Ballet in New York and as principal dancer for the Dance Theatre of Kansas. Mr. Rogers choreographs and is a teacher for RBI.
